Carnival Saturday to benefit soldier families
The Family Readiness Group of the 1138th National Guard Engineer Batallion based in Farmington will hold a carnival from 3-7 p.m. Saturday at the Armory.
“We’ll have all kinds of games for children with tickets 25 cents and up,” explained Teresa Moore, Lead Volunteer with the group. “And we will serve chili for $5 with hot-dogs.”
The proceeds will benefit group projects like a homecoming for the soldiers in the unit that’s been deployed since last July. Moore said they hope to return home in July.
In addition to the food and games, a medical helicopter will be available for touring.
