Chamber holds gold tournament
Teams and individuals have until Wednesday to sign up for the 9th Park Hills – Leadington Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament.
The annual fundraiser will take place Friday at Terre Du Lac Golf Course. Registration begins at noon, with a shot gun start at 1 p.m. Dinner and awards will follow the tournament. The fundraiser helps cover operating expenses for the chamber.
“Our hope every year is to see a minimum of 10 teams,” Executive Director Tammi Burns said. “Obviously, we’d love to see 18 or 20.”
As of Monday, eight teams had registered for the event. Individuals also may sign up to be grouped with others to make up a four-person team. Cost per team is $300 or $75 per individual, which includes greens fees, cart rental, dinner, drinks, door prizes and winners’ prizes for teams that earn first, second and third places. Door prizes include golf balls, tees, golf bags, golf shirts and gift certificates for local restaurants.
There also will be optional Poker Run and Ball Toss games on the course. The Poker Run costs an additional $5 per hand and the Ball Toss costs another $10 per team. Lunch also is available for purchase.
The chamber is still seeking volunteers and sponsors for holes. For more information or to volunteer, contact Burns at 573-431-1051.
“This is one of the first opportunities of the year for golfers to get back on the course and enjoy some competition,” Burns said. “We have a lot of good prizes this year. It’s a lot of fun!”
