Golf tournament postponed

Heavy rains and course conditions have led the Park Hills – Leadington Chamber of Commerce to postpone its golf tournament a week.

The tournament was scheduled for today but instead will be played April 18 at the Terre Du Lac Golf Course. Those who have registered to play or to volunteer at the tournament but have scheduling conflicts for that day are asked to call the Chamber office at 573-431-1051 as soon as possible.

Likewise, people who could not attend today, but are able to play or to volunteer on the rescheduled date, should contact the Chamber. Team registrations will be accepted through Thursday at the Chamber office.

Registration will begin at noon, with a shot gun start at 1 p.m. Dinner and awards will follow the tournament. The fundraiser helps cover operating expenses for the chamber.

Individuals also may sign up to be grouped with others to make up a four-person team. Cost per team is $300 or $75 per individual, which includes greens fees, cart rental, dinner, drinks, door prizes and winners’ prizes for teams that earn first, second and third places. Door prizes include golf balls, tees, golf bags, golf shirts and gift certificates for local restaurants.

There also will be optional Poker Run and Ball Toss games on the course. The Poker Run costs an additional $5 per hand and the Ball Toss costs another $10 per team. Lunch also is available for purchase
