Four-vehicle accident injures man
A De Soto man was seriously injured in a four-vehicle accident on U.S. 67 near Highway 110 in Jefferson County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, William M. Pritchett, 26, was taken by Arch to St. Louis University Hospital.
Reports indicate he was driving a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero and attempted to pass on the shoulder a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Jason R. Evenstad, 22, of Bonne Terre. He struck Evenstad’s vehicle, causing both vehicles to travel into the median.
Pritchett’s vehicle then struck a 2001 Freightliner driven by Timothy J. Becherer, 34, of Troy, Ill. and came to rest in the northbound lanes. Becherer’s tractor trailer overturned and came to rest in the median.
Evenstad’s vehicle traveled into the northbound lanes and struck a 2008 Pontiac Vibe driven by Linda Polk, 63, of Park Hills.
No one else was injured. The accident was reported at 3:20 p.m.
