Bones are animal remains

Bones that were discovered near Cedar Lake Wednesday turned out to be animal remains.

Sheriff Dan Bullock said the bones were discovered below the dam in about a half inch of water.

The bones were taken to a pathologist at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center who verified the bones were not human remains. Bullock said he was not sure what kind of animal it was.
