Two accidents injure three

Three area residents were injured Tuesday in two single-vehicle accidents.

According to Missouri Highway Patrol reports, the first accident occurred at 8:50 a.m. on Gilday Road in Washington County. Charles W. Goodson, 32, of Potosi, was eastbound in a 1996 Plymouth Breeze when he went off the right side of the road at Clear Creek Bridge and traveled into the creek.

Goodson, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered moderate injuries and was taken by air ambulance to St. John’s Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur. Passenger Randy P. Wills, 46, of Potosi, suffered serious injuries. Wills, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by air ambulance to the same hospital, according to reports.

Damage to the vehicle was listed as total and it was towed from the scene.

According to the Highway Patrol, the second accident occurred at 2 p.m. in Jefferson County. Sharron L. Whitaker, 71, of Bonne Terre was southbound on U.S. 67 in a 2006 Honda Civic when the vehicle went off the left side of the road south of Route JJ. Whitaker overcorrected and the Civic went off the right side of the road and struck a rock bluff.

Whitaker, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Damage to the car was listed as extensive and it was towed from the scene.

 A Pevely woman received minor injuries Sunday night in Jefferson County when her 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier collided with a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer.

According to Missouri Highway Patrol reports, Brittany M. Neff, 20, was eastbound on Highway 30 at North Valley Dell at 7:23 p.m. when the Trailblazer, driven by Jessica C. Kamp, 21, of Ste. Genevieve, slowed for a traffic signal. Neff failed to slow for the light and collided with the rear of Kamp’s vehicle. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Neff was taken by ambulance to St. Anthony’s Hospital. Damage to her car was listed as total, and it was towed from the scene. Damage to the Trailblazer was listed as minor, and it was driven from the scene.
