CUB-ARAMA COUNTDOWN….TWO WEEKS TO GO!!
September is already here and the countdown to JP’s 7th Midwest Cub-Arama has begun. Hopefully you have noticed the bright banners that are hanging on the new lamppost around the Court Square as well as down all Main Streets. Tomorrow marks two weeks until the set up day, but don’t be surprised to see trailers full of tractors rolling into town even earlier in the week. Set up will begin on Thursday, September 25th and two full show days are Friday, September 26 and Saturday, September 27th.
This years show is looking to be another amazing event. Just to give you a taste of what to expect, here are a few of this years highlights.
HUNDREDS of International Harvester/Farmall Cub and Cub Cadets on display from all over the U.S. and Canada, Also, don’t forget that ANY IH item is welcome to the show.
TRACTOR CRUISES around town on Friday and Saturday. The first will be a relaxing afternoon ride to Vance Vineyards to see the lovely country side with a stop for a delicious lunch. Then Saturday morning you can join the tractors for a beautiful ride around the City Lake with a pit stop at the local Farmers Market at Madison Co. Feed for refreshments and to check out the local produce, community displays and sales! Everyone is welcome to join the cruised with their IH tractors. Trips last about an hour.
CONCESSIONS will be onsite and all are provided by LOCAL organizations. Delicious items at great prices. All support is needed.
KIDDIE Tractor pull to take place on Saturday, September 27th at 11 am on North Main
DEMONSTRATIONS will be through out the weekend, anything from field demonstrations to how to fix a minor problems on your tractor.
PARADE – a great chance to see these wonderful tractors on the move on Saturday 27th at 10 am. (Full route will be in the next issue of the Democrat News) Also, any group or business is welcome to join us with a float. Please call 783-7055 for details. Also, plan now to come a WATCH the Parade of Power. These people travel many miles to show off their tractors and it is truly a great site when they are lined up in a parade!!
VENDERS will be on hand with great selection of new and used IH parts and other merchandise from toys to clothes and more.
SWAP MEET is a nice chance to sell or trade your extra IH items you may have or get a great deal on someone else’s.
CITY WIDE YARD SALE, this is the 3rd year for this and has really caught on. Plan your yard sales now. Those who purchase a paid as in the DN will be listed with a city map in the September 24th issue. The City has also decided to waive the permit fee for yard sales on this weekend. This is a great chance to get all the out of town tractor show people to stop and check out your bargains.
Keep an eye out in the Democrat News over the next two weeks for a full schedule of events and the parade route. Mark you calendar now to come to JC Park the last weekend of the month. Last year there were 266 tractors from 22 states and Canada in our small community. Lets get together to show our local support and enjoy this exciting chance to relax and have a great family fun weekend right here at home.
