Woman indicted on meth charges turns herself in

FARMINGTON — A Bonne Terre woman who was indicted by the St. Francois County Grand Jury in June has turned herself into police. Nancy A. Farkas, 46, Bonne Terre, was indicted on five counts of possession of a chemical with intent to create a controlled substance on June 20.

She turned herself in to authorities at the St. Francois County Jail on Sept. 24 and has since bonded out.

According to the charges, on Nov. 8, 2006, Farkas possessed pseudophedrine, red phosphorous, Heet, Ammomium nitrate in the form of an Ace brand cold pack and Ozark Trail camping fuel with the intent to convert, process or alter the chemicals to create methamphetamine.

Each charge carries a maximum sentence of seven years in prison.
