Road Riders for Jesus at Calvary Temple
The Road Riders for Jesus Motorcycle Ministry was on hand October 19 to share in the gospel of Jesus at Calvary Temple Church in Fredericktown.
The stage at Calvary Temple had two motorcycles on it last Sunday. The service included music and song by the choir, lead by Mike Shryock; Minister of Music, and praise; lead by Pastor Carl Cureton and Youth Pastor Randy Sawyer.
An outdoor tent area was set up for many more motorcycles; staged for viewing by the ministry
During the service, Pastor Carl Cureton introduced the National Director for the Road Riders for Jesus Motorcycle Ministry; the Reverend Carl Crackel. Cureton said Crackel resides in Hillsboro, Missouri with his wife and family. Cureton said Crackel was feeling a call to ministry in 1991 and started the Road Riders for Jesus M/M in 1999. Since that time, Crackel has been in nearly every state in the Union, and to Canada. The website states a chapter has also been organized in Belgium and the ministry continues to grow every year. Cureton said the organization now has over 2000 members.
When Crackel took the podium he said he was once told you could not be a Christian and a motorcycle rider at the same time. That statement was an impetus to the creation of the motorcycle ministry.
Hundreds of people were on hand for the event, which included a pig roast at the conclusion of the service.
