Letter to the Editor…
Dear Editor,
Residents of Fredericktown,
We are writing to you to inform you of a letter the City of Fredericktown recently received from the Army Corps of Engineers concerning the land next to Lincoln Drive. The letter dated October 8th, 2008, from Thomas E. O’Hara, Jr., Colonel, U.S. Army is a cease and desist order for the clean up being undertaken by the City. The order specifically requests all work to be stopped. It also states, “if you have any questions regarding this determination, you may contact Mr. Shawn Sullivan of the Regulatory Branch, at (314) 331-8580”.
However, if you are as concerned with the area as we are we not only urge you to contact Mr. Sullivan, but also you’re U.S. Representatives. Our small community has had a great deal of successes during the past two years. Some of those successes have been small others large, but the one element in all of them is a strong community. For the safety of those in the area, the blemish to those that pass by each day and the unsightly view seen by those visiting our beautiful community please follow up with the numbers listed below and express how you feel. If you would like to also follow up with a letter, templates can be obtained at City Hall or from any Alderman.
