Caroline (Schrum) Johnston Greenwell
Caroline (Schrum) Johnston Greenwell, 66, of DeSoto, Missouri died October 18, 2008 at her home.
She was born July 24, 1942 in Richwoods, the daughter of the late Dolphin Taylor and Bessie Pearl (Murdick) Schrum.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Johnston, one son, Wayne Johnston and one brother, Dolphin “Joe” Schrum Jr..
Mrs. Greenwell is surviuved by one son, Josh Greenwell of Naples, Florida; one step-daughter, Tami Greenwell Derringer of Ocala, Florida; her former husband, Johnnie Greenwell of North Fort Meyers, Florida; three sisters, Viola Huff of Cherokee Pass, Missouri, Gwen Hutton of DeSoto and Eileen Robbins of Gillespie, Illinois; three brothers, Don Schrum of De Soto, Ron Schrum of De Soto and Robert Schrum of De Soto.
She had three step-children, 16 nieces and nephews; and 18 great nieces and great nephews.
Mrs. Greenwell was a police officer for the Lee County Sheriff’s Department and a member of First United Methodist Church in De Soto. She was also a member of Grande Dame of LaSociete De Feme 40+8 Carana Locale 1567, Chapter 15 O.E.S., VFW Post 1831 Auxiliary, American Legion Post 274 Auxiliary, Amvets Post 38 Auxiliary and the Veterans Club of America Post 1 Auxiliary.
Services were held October 23, 2008 at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto with Bob Carpenter officiating. Burial wasa at Horine Cemetery in Richwoods.
