Jones gets 10 years for molesting child
FARMINGTON — A Park Hills man was sentenced last week for molesting a child.
Circuit Court Judge Kenneth W. Pratte sentenced Rustin O. Jones, 18, of Park Hills, to 10 years in prison for first-degree statutory sodomy. As part of a plea agreement, a first-degree statutory rape charge was dismissed.
According to court records, Jones had deviate sexual intercourse with a child who was less than 14 years old on two different occasions in 2007.
In other cases, Shawn J. Depriest, 20, of Farmington, was sentenced to five years in prison for violating the probation he received for second-degree domestic assault. According to court records, he punched a woman in the face, breaking her nose.
Carrol Parks, 74, of Bonne Terre, was placed on five years of supervised probation for receiving stolen property. He was ordered to pay $21,000 in restitution and already made a $5,000 payment on his sentencing date.
According to court records, Parks received carbide drill bits which he knew had been stolen by Nicholas Brister of Bonne Terre who worked at U.S. Tool Grinding. Brister was sentenced to seven years in prison.
Michael Scott Rose, 46, of Farmington, was sentenced to seven years in prison for driving while intoxicated. The judge will consider releasing him on five years of supervised probation after he completes a 120-day shock incarceration program.
Billy J. Mann, 29, of Annapolis, was sentenced to seven years in prison for violating the probation he received for two counts of possession of a chemical with intent to make meth. The judge will consider releasing him on five years of supervised probation after he completes a 120-day shock incarceration program.
Winford Buhrmester, 40, of Park Hills, was sentenced to five years in prison for driving while intoxicated.
Paul W. Goldberry, 50, of Leadington, was sentenced to four years in prison for possession of a controlled substance.
Carol Mann, 24, of Annapolis, was placed on five years of supervised probation for possession of a chemical with intent to create meth.
On Friday, Circuit Court Judge Sandy Martinez sentenced Joseph Pool, 36, of Park Hills, to four years in prison for violating the probation he received for stealing pseudoephedrine to make meth.
According to court records, Pool purchased two boxes of the cold medicine, but was caught by Wal-Mart employees stealing two additional boxes.
Pool was placed on five years of supervised probation in 2006 after completing a 120-day drug treatment program.
In other cases, Jerry Plummer, 41, of St. Louis, was sentenced to four years in prison for violating the probation he received for failure to pay child support.
Placed on five years of supervised probation were Mark S. Burkett, 39, of Bonne Terre, for driving while intoxicated and Junior Greer, 32, of Fredericktown, for passing a bad check;
Stephen G. Martin, 47, of Bonne Terre, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of a chemical with intent to create meth. Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 6.
