Fire marshal investigates Farmington fire

FARMINGTON — The Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a house fire that occurred in Farmington Thursday night.

Farmington Fire Chief Todd Mecey said the fire department was dispatched to a fire on Oak Street just before 6 p.m. When firefighters arrived, there was fire showing from the house.

The homeowner, a son, and grandson were at home at the time but were able to get out without injury.

Mecey said it took 20 minutes to get the fire under control. There was heavy fire damage to two rooms and extensive heat and smoke damage throughout the entire house.

Farmington was assisted by firefighters from Wolf Creek and Doe Run fire departments.
