Sunday is Remember A Child Day

Letter to the Editor:

Our son was killed in a car accident on November 19, 2000. He was our only child and is greatly missed. We got into grief support and learned from the Bereaved Parents USA that on the second Sunday in December, it is National Remember a Child Day. At 7:00 p.m. in your time zone, you are to light a candle. The theory is that this will cause a wave of light around the world in remembrance of the children who have left us too early.

So wherever you are at 7:00 p.m. on December 14, please light a candle and say a small prayer for the children who are no longer here. Some people go to the cemetery to be with their children. Others just light them and go out the front door and look up to the heavens. Then some just light it at their kitchen table. For the greatest injustice to a Parent who has lost a child is for others to forget them.
