Denman receives President’s Scholarship

Brianna L. Denman of Fredericktown, MO has been awarded a President’s Scholarship and Missouri Leadership Award to attend Southeast Missouri University for the 2009-2010 academic year.

The President’s Scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who have a 24 or higher composite ACT score (SAT score of 1100) and a 3.5 high school grade point average on a 4.0 scale or rank in the top 20 percent of their class; a 23 or higher composite ACT (SAT score of 1060) and rank in the top 10 percent of their class; or a 23 or higher composite ACT score (SAT score of 1060) and are class valedictorian or salutatorian.  The scholarship is valued at $2,000 per academic year.

This scholarship is renewable for three additional academic years after initial reward year for a maximum of four consecutive academic years.  To renew the recipient must maintain a 3.5 cumulative grade point average in courses taken at Southeast and complete a minimum of 30 credit hours of course work per academic year at Southeast.  Southeast summer hours, taken in the same academic year, may be used to meet renewal criteria.

The Missouri Leadership Award is one-year award of $1,000 to be applied toward residence hall fees, and designed for Missouri students who have demonstrated leadership, scholarship involvement.  Students receiving the scholarship must have achieved a 3.0 grade point average.

Denman will be a 2009 graduate of Fredericktown High School.  She is the daughter of Chad and Betsy Denman of Fredericktown.
