Police seek witness for information

FARMINGTON — Police want to locate a possible witness to an accident on the Farmington Wal-Mart Supercenter parking lot earlier this month. They have a photo of the woman, but little other information.

Farmington Police Cpl. Byron Ratliff is handling the accident investigation. He says the incident occurred on Jan. 11 at about 7:55 p.m. In a store surveillance video, the woman is seen entering the store at 7:59 p.m.

Police say they merely would like to talk to the woman about the minor accident which happened on the parking lot that evening.

The woman reportedly went into the store and asked for a storewide page for the driver of the vehicle which was struck. The driver failed to respond to the page, and later discovered the damage. By that time, the woman had completed her business and left the store.

It’s obvious the woman made an effort to report the accident, and the police would like to have her information for the follow-up accident report, but the store video is all the department has to help locate her now.

Ratliff is asking that the woman contact the police department, or anyone who might see this accident contact the police or the woman so they can be linked to exchange information about the accident. Information can be relayed to the police department by calling (573) 756-6686.
