James M. LaPlant Jr.

James M. Laplant Jr.,67, of Fredericktown died January 24, 2009 at his home.

He was born July 21, 1941 at Marble Creek, Missouri, the son of James M. Marvin LaPlant Sr. and Virginia (Kemp) LaPlant.

 Mr. LaPlant Jr. was preceded in death by his parents; one  brother, Robert LaPlant; one son, Victor LaPlant and granddaughter, Samantha “Sammi” LaPlant.

He is survived by his wife Glenda LaPlant whom he married December 22, 1979 in St. Louis, Missouri; three sons, Christopher LaPlant of St. Louis, Jesse La Plant of St. Louis and William “Bill” Davis of Marquand, Missouri; five daughters, Lisa Minden of St. Louis, Sherri LaPlant of Texas, Victoria LaPlant of Texas,Lisa Wood of St. Louis and Melissa Saunders of Cadet, Missouri; three brothers, Gerald LaPlant of St. Louis, Russell LaPlant, and Barry LaPlant of Arcadia; and two sisters Jennifer Vierling of St. Louis and Cheryl Wurtz of Arcadia.

Mr. LaPlant Jr. had 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He enjoyed hunting, gardening and whittling.

Services were held January 26, 2009 at Follis and Sons Chapel with Brother Jon Welch officiating.
