Mineral Area split games with Moberly

MOBERLY — Mineral Area College’s men and ladies teams were both in action at Moberly on Saturday in Region 16 play.

The Lady Cardinals dropped a 56-44 loss to the Lady Greyhounds after trailing 14-1 at the start they fought back to a 25-16 half-time score. Caitlin Shadbolt led the team in scoring with 18 points and rebounding with 12 boards.

The Lady Cardinals (16-10) are currently in second place in Region 16 at 6-3, and will host Forest park on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

The Cardinals led at the half of their game by 16 points, but they had to fight off a hungry group of Greyhounds in the second half to win by only three, 71-68.  Gerald Fulton led the Cardinals in scoring with 24 points and Mike Stovall score 12.

The Cardinals (16-10) are also in second place in Region 16 at 5-1, and will host Forest Park on Wednesday and Southeaster Iowa on Thursday with both games at 7 p.m.
