HILLSBORO — The Cental Lady Rebels will meet Potosi for the fifth time this season in Monday’s district game at Central with the series tied at 2-2. The Lady Rebels (9-15) tuned up on the Hillsboro Lady Hawks on Thursday with a 55-45 win.
A 22-point second quarter put the game out of reach for the Lady Rebels with Amanda Williams taking charge of the scoring for 16 points in the game.
Maggee Cunningham nailed two three-pinters to give her a total of nine points, Stacy Williams scored eight, Riley Owens and Ashley Coplin scord six points each, and Melanee Cunningham and Erin St. Gemme had five apiece.
Ste. Genevieve 52, Festus 39
FESTUS — The Ste. Genevieve Hunters set a new win record for their high school as they defeated the Festus Lady Tigers 52-39 on Thursday. The Hunters are now 20-5 and will start district play on Monday at Sikeston.
Holley Fox led the Hunters in scoring with 13 point and Laura Rhodes and Megan Schenck scored 10 points each.
Potosi 42, West County 36
POTOSI — The Potosi girls basketball team closed its resurgent regular season with a solid 42-36 home victory over West County on Thursday night.
Junior guard Ashley Duncan scored 17 points and sophomore Ashley Thompson netted 11, as the Lady Trojans evened their record at 12-12.
West County (14-11) received a team-high 16 points from freshman Katie Gettinger, plus nine more from Chelsie Kelly.
St. Vincent 63, Valle 39
STE. GENEVIEVE — The Valle Lady Warriors could not protect a first-quarter lead on Thursday night, as visiting St. Vincent pulled away for a convincing 63-39 win.
Hannah Kuenzel and Megan Ritter each scored 12 points and Kelsey Abt added nine to lead Valle (13-10), which was outscored 22-6 during the final eight minutes.
St. Vincent held a 25-14 halftime advantage, and was paced by Courtney Besand with a game-high 22 points.
