Should there be a requirement to get a prescription for pseudoephedrine?

The Missouri House and Senate are considering legislation that would require a doctor’s prescription for cold medicines with pseudoephedrine. Senate Bill 160, sponsored by Sen. Jason Crowell, R-Cape Girardeau. would change the scheduling of ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, and phenylpropanolamine to be Schedule III controlled substances. Proponents of the bill say such legislation helped Oregon.
