Local business supports Friends of Scouting Campaign

In Fredericktown, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts from Troop 27 benefit directly from the annual Friends of Scouting Fundraising Campaign. Friends of Scouting is an annual fundraising effort that provides the financial resources necessary to deliver a premier Scouting program.  A successful Friends of Scouting campaign enables the Greater St. Louis Area Council to provide quality services and programs to local youth. The annual campaign begins in January and ends in late April.

Ozarks Federal Savings and Loan is proud to support the local Boy Scouts as part of its charitable giving plan. The bank has supported the FOS campaign for many years and would like to encourage other businesses to do the same. “One of the benefits of Scouting,” said Phillip Brockland (a former Scout Leader and now Loan Officer with Ozarks Federal), “is exposure to things that a boy might not ordinarily get to enjoy.  Scouting gives a boy experience in many areas beyond what he would receive from school alone.  A Scout learns skills that enable him to save a life, work cooperatively with his peers and practice self sufficiency.”

Ozarks Federal is the second largest federal mutual savings and loan association in Missouri with over 45 full-time employees and over $182 million in over 13,000 deposit accounts protected by FDIC insurance. It also has locations in Festus, Ironton, Fredericktown and Potosi with its home office located in Farmington.
