Police arrest two in vehicle break-ins
The Bonne Terre Police Department has been able to make two arrests in connection with some of the vehicle break-ins occurring around town.
Bonne Terre Police Chief Doug Calvert said an eye witness came forward and identified one of the suspects, which broke the case.
He said they arrested and interviewed two people Tuesday night and got a confession. The two were released, pending the filing of charges.
Calvert said they can be tied to three to five of the vehicle break-ins that occurred recently.
Calvert said the investigation is ongoing and there could be more arrests. The items that were stolen have not been recovered. He said they either stole cash or items that they converted to cash.
In an unrelated case, Calvert said Officer Chad Brown investigated a theft of merchandise at Helping Hands. Brown reviewed surveillance video and discovered someone who worked there had taken the items.
