Kay Kraft

FARMINGTON — Dr. Kathleen “Kay” Kraft of Farmington passed away March 27, 2009, at the St. Louis University Hospital. She was born in Millersburg, MO, on May 2, 1928, to the late Robinet and Eula (Hudson) Jacob. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold and an infant sister, Rosemary.

Mrs. Kraft was a graduate of the University of Missouri, where she received a bachelors degree, and of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, where she earned masters and doctorate degrees in education. She was a home economics instructor at various Illinois and Missouri public schools and in later years she taught child development courses at SIU Carbondale and Mineral Area College. She was a member of the Christian Science Society of Farmington, where she served as the second reader, and the Greater Federation of Women’s Club.

She is survived by her husband, Norman Kraft, a daughter Debbie Kraft-Lee and husband Mr. K.G. Lee, a grandson, Christopher Lee and a granddaughter, Chelsea Lee, all of San Jose, CA; a niece, Diane Colvard and a nephew, Larry Jacob.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 3, at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Visitation will resume on Saturday at 7 a.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. at the Cozean Chapel.
