Beginning gardening class

If the recession has you thinking about a garden, but your thumb isn’t green, the University of Missouri Extension can help.

Plant Science Specialist Katie Kammler will offer a beginning garden class from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday in the community room of Ozarks Federal Savings and Loan, 2 East Columbia Street, in downtown Farmington.

Kammler will teach participants basic skills to growing a garden.  Cost of the class is $5. “We have had a very high number of questions this year about how to grow a garden,” County Program Director Ben Davis said. “Perhaps people want to save money growing some of their own food or they just want to know where their food comes from. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to successfully grow a garden. “
