St. Louis man hurt in hit-and-run accident

A St. Louis man was seriously injured Wednesday in a hit-and-run accident .6 mile north of Simpson Road on Highway 21 in Washington County.

According to Missouri Highway Patrol reports, Edward A. Woelm, 55, was southbound on a 2007 Harley Davidson at 4:30 p.m. when a northbound tractor trailer crossed over the center line and struck Woelm’s leg. The tractor trailer continued north without stopping.

Woelm was taken by ambulance to Barnes Hospital. Damage to the motorcycle was listed as minor.
