Police complete ‘… Safe Teen’

The Farmington Police Department held their annual Operation Safe Teen during the weeks of March 15-31.

During the Operation Safe Teen the officers handed out a total of 23 traffic tickets. They include 10 safety belt tickets, 13 other traffic violations and 14 warnings for various violations.

“Safety belts are your single best defense in a crash,” said Farmington Police Chief Rick Baker. “Law enforcement will continue to encourage drivers to make a simple, smart choice to buckle up and Arrive Alive.”

Funding for this effort was provided by a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Division in cooperation with the National Highway Safety Administration and the Missouri Safety Center.
