Bonne Terre has fishing derby

BONNE TERRE — The third annual Bonne Terre Chamber of Commerce/St. Francois County Rotary Club fishing derby will be Saturday at Lakeview Park.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. The contest begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 10 a.m.

Dave Galczynski, organizer, said they will be stocking the lake with catfish today and are asking people not to use the lake until Saturday.

The contest is for youth, 15 and under. Prizes will be awarded for biggest fish, most fish caught and for the winner out of three age categories. Young children should be supervised by an adult.

After the contest, there will be hot dogs and soda.
