Bands excel in competition
Two Farmington High School bands earned superior ratings at the Music in the Parks Festival at Six Flags on April 25.
The FHS Concert Band earned one superior rating under the direction of Mrs. Linda Huck at the festival. They also won first place in their class in the second band division in Class AA (schools over 1,000 students).
The FHS Symphonic Band received one superior rating at the festival under the direction of Mr. Kurt Bauche. They won first in their division, Class AA (schools over 1,000 students). They were also awarded grand Champion award for scoring the highest point total of the day with 96 out of 100.
The bands will have their annual spring concert May 7 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Centene Center in Farmington. They will also be presenting awards and the McClard Memorial Band Scholarship to a graduating senior.
