Desloge hires new pool manager

DESLOGE — The City of Desloge has a new pool manager. The board of aldermen hired Amy Pope to run the city’s swimming pool during closed session on Monday. Desloge City Administrator Greg Camp said Pope has been a lifeguard with the city for three years. The pool is scheduled to open Memorial Day weekend.

The board also hired Jason Loughary to serve as assistant manager of Desloge Community Baseball. Loughary will replace Matt Branon who moved out of state. In April the board hired Branon and Greg Tadych to run the baseball leagues. The city pays a total of $8,000 to the league managers.

The board also hired Tony Harrison to work in the public works department.
