Carrie Brown Penuel

FARMINGTON — Carrie Brown Penuel went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 23, 2009, at the age of 82 years, 10 months, and 18 days. She was born on July 5, 1926, at Statesville, TN, daughter of the late Toy Jennings and Ruby (Word) Jennings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Dale Penuel, two brothers, James Jennings and Douglas Jennings, and brother-in-law, Joe Bogle.

Carrie was a homemaker. She was a member of Delassus Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, gardening and listening to gospel music.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Lester Dillon Penuel, three sons, Johnny D. Penuel and wife Carolyn of Farmington, Roger D. Penuel and wife Beverly and D. Eugene Penuel and wife Brenda, all of House Springs, MO; two sisters, Lucille Bogle and Joyce (Mrs. Joe) Caldwell, all of Lebanon, TN and a brother, Edwin Jennings of Gallitin, TN. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call Tuesday, May 26, 2009 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Cozean Memorial Chapel. Visitation will resume at 7 a.m. on Wednesday. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. with the Rev. David Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, St. Ann, MO. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
