Toys to Children’s Advocacy Center
St. Francois County Community Partnership donated $500 worth of toys and activities to Comtrea’s Children’s Advocacy Center located in Farmington.
The donation included Legos and a Lego table, books, crayons, markers, paint, and various other toys for the children who are seen at the CAC. The items will be used in the waiting room to help ease some of the fear and anxiety children may face while at the Center.
“These donations are going to be very helpful in providing services to children and continuing to make the investigative process as easy as we can,” said Connilee Boehne, CAC Executive Director. “We are so thankful to the Community Partnership for their generous donation and continued support.”
The CAC office in Farmington was opened in April to provide quality services at a more convenient location to alleged victims of child abuse and/or neglect.
Families and team members from St. Francois, Ste. Genevieve, Madison, and Iron counties no longer have to face the burden of traveling to the De Soto site and are able to cut mileage and travel time almost in half.
The CAC will also be able to increase community awareness and provide education regarding child abuse issues. The Center is able to financially support the services provided to children and their families with the community support provided through private donations and fundraising events.
