Bank celebrates anniversary

New Era Bank is celebrating its 75th anniversary. To mark the milestone, on June 18 the bank will serve cake, punch and cookies to customers in the lobbies of each branch location. The bank will give away a Weber gas grill, as well as a gift basket filled with various summertime items. Entry forms for the prizes may be filled out at any local bank at 101 S. Mine La Motte Ave., Fredericktown, 11 E. Liberty St., Farmington or 207 W. Main St., Park Hills.

New Era Bank opened for business in 1934 amid optimism that the problems of the Great Depression were in the past. It began operations in the building formerly occupied by the Bank of Fredericktown at East Main Street and South Mine La Motte Avenue.
