Daughters organization meets
The Sarah Barton Murphy Chapter, NSDAR, held its last monthly meeting of the term year on May 2 at Ryan’s Steakhouse.
Eleven members and five guests were present. Regent Sharon Eads chaired the meeting, with Chaplain Carol Farr leading the ritual.
The program was presented by World War II veteran Lorin Gregory, who attended with his wife Ruby. Gregory served in the U.S. Marines for six years. Gregory was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation for his efforts.
The members discussed plans for a genealogy workshop during the summer, to which prospective members will be invited.
The next meeting of Sarah Barton Murphy Chapter, NSDAR, will be held on Sept. 5 at 9 a.m. at Ryan’s Steakhouse. All ladies whose ancestor served this country during the Revolutionary War are invited to attend.
