Accident injures three
Three Potosi women received minor injuries Wednesday night when their 1998 Pontiac Sunfire struck a guardrail in Jefferson County.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol reports, Jerry L. Bridgeman, 36, of St. Louis was southbound in the left lane of Interstate 55 at 8:59 p.m. when the vehicle began to slide. The Sunfire rotated counter clockwise, struck the median and returned to the roadway. Bridgeman overcorrected, traveled off the right side of the road at Route M and struck the guardrail.
Injured were passengers Amanda L. Copeland, 19; Christy A Dettling, 38; and Nicole M. Gevermuehle, 19. The women were taken by ambulance to St. Anthony Hospital. No injuries were listed for Bridgeman. All four had been wearing seat belts.
Damage to the Sunfire was listed as total.
A Cadet man received minor injuries Thursday at 7:55 a.m. when his 1997 Pontiac Bonneville struck several trees in Washington County.
According to the Highway Patrol, Cole A. Elsey, 19, was westbound on Route AA, .6 mile west of H. Smith Road when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway. Elsey overcorrected and the car returned to the road, then ran off the left side of the road. The vehicle struck several trees before coming to a rest.
Elsey, who had not been wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Washington County Memorial Hospital.
Damage to the vehicle was listed as total.
