Possession gets woman 7 years
FARMINGTON — A woman was sentenced to seven years in prison for violating the probation she received for possession of a controlled substance.
On Wednesday morning after hearing from a DFS worker and a probation officer, Circuit Court Judge Michael J. Bullerdieck of Perry County sentenced Melissa M. Osburn, 27, of Farmington, to seven years in prison.
She currently has charges pending for endangering the welfare of a child and possession of a controlled substance (oxycodone).
According to those police reports, she was arrested in 2007 for exposing a child to meth after the child tested positive for the substance. She was arrested in 2008 on a warrant and found in possession of three oxycodone pills.
Both cases are set for trial Oct. 28.
Osburn is represented by Donald Hager. She was given a change of judge outside the circuit because her attorney is suing all of the circuit and associate circuit judges in St. Francois County.
