Jeep overturns, injures woman

A De Soto woman received moderate injuries Sunday when her 2005 Jeep Liberty overturned in St. Francois County.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol reports, Dori J. Biggs, 57, was southbound on U.S. 67 at a high rate of speed at 6:10 a.m., when her vehicle went off the edge of the road and into the median. The Jeep struck a storm drain .1 mile south of Stormy Lane and overturned several times.

Biggs, who had been wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Parkland Health Center. Damage to the Jeep was listed as total.

A Pilot Knob woman received moderate injuries Saturday when her 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier struck a tree in St. Francois County.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Rachel A. Bates, 20, was southbound on Highway 221 at 6:47 p.m., when her vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck a tree, .3 mile south of Lake Hannah.

Bates, who had been wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Iron County Hospital. Damage to the vehicle was listed as moderate.
