Bantam and Ripken teams edging closer to end of season
FARMINGTON — Nathan Hollock and Matt Momot each singled twice, and Noah Vinson struck out 11 batters in a three-hit shutout on Wednesday as the Leadwood Titans topped the Farmington Mustangs 2-0.
Garret Bowen, Jared Jones and Vinson also chipped in hits for the Titans (10-2), who are scheduled for another Bantam League showdown this evening against the Bonne Terre Bombers.
Brayden Bowling doubled while Alex England and Alex Palmer each singled for the Mustangs (10-2).
Stars 7, Rattlers 0
BISMARCK — Austin Jarvis struck out 13 batters for a four-hit shut-out to give the Bismarck Stars a 7-0 win over the Farmington Rattlers in a make-up game Wednesday night.
Dalton Dugal hit a triple for the Stars (8-4) and Logan Dunn and Timmy Mork both hit one double. Singles for the Stars were by Dunn, Hunter Drake, Dugal with one each, and Shawn Mork and Jarvis both hit two singles.
Brock McLeod hit two singles for the Rattlers (6-6), and Colin Vinson and Sam Trokey had one single each.
CAL RIPKEN LEAGUE
Dodgers 13, Steamers 3
CALEDONIA — The Park Hills Dodgers scored five times in the second and fourth innings, and continued their winning streak on Wednesday with a 13-3 triumph over the Valley Steamers.
Conner Proffer had two hits including a triple, and Jake Bridges added a double and single for the Dodgers (13-1). Matt Richardson also picked up two hits, and five other players had singles.
Colin Bess compiled six strikeouts in the victory. Logan Lucas and Ethan Civey each singled for the Steamers.
Raiders 20, Eagles 6
LEADWOOD — T.J. Eaton pitched a complete game and was among nine different players to achieve multiple hits, as the Bonne Terre Raiders slugged out a 20-6 victory over the Leadwood Eagles.
Hunter Strange drilled two triples and a double, and Tyler Neubrand ripped three singles to pace the Raiders.
Austin Harper, Austin Tounsand, Anthony Brakefield, Caleb Bannister, Trae Morris and Travis Schesley collected two hits each.
The Eagles received two singles from Devin Culkin, and individual hits by Tyler Boenenkamp, Blake Barlow, Gavin Brines and Clayton Brinkley.
