Belfield injured in Washington County accident

A Desloge teenager received minor injuries Wednesday when his 1998 Mazda 626 struck several trees in Washington County.

According to Missouri Highway Patrol reports, the accident occurred at 9:10 p.m. on Pond Creek Road at Trokey Road. Ryan N. Belfield, 16, was eastbound when he failed to negotiate a right curve, causing the vehicle to travel off the left of the road, where it struck several trees.

Belfield, who had been wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Washington County Memorial Hospital. Damage to the Mazda was listed as total.
