Mary Jane Leonberger
FARMINGTON — Mary Jane Leonberger of Farmington passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Des Peres Hospital at the age of 78 years, 10 months, and 29 days. She was born July 20, 1930, at Desloge, daughter of the late Henry C. and Sadie E. (Lindsey) Jennings. She was also preceded in death by a brother, John Paul Jennings, and by four sisters, Delores E. McLeod, Leatha Bird, Anna L. McLeod, and Fern L. Danback and by a granddaughter, Faith Coleman,
She was a homemaker. In her spare time, Jane enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. She was also regarded as a fine cook, especially her ox tail soup and ice tea. But most of all, she enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Charles R. Leonberger and wife Pamela of Farmland, IN, a daughter, Donna M. (Mrs. Stephen) Biermann of Beaufort, MO, a daughter, Jody A. (Mrs. Michael) Irwin of Cedar Park, TX, a son, Michael F. Burns and a special friend, Donald Ozment of Farmington, a daughter, Tammie M. (Mrs. James) Coleman of Farmington, a brother, James G. Jennings of Doe Run and two sisters, Virginia M. Harwood of Sheridan, IN, and Martha J. Colona of Savannah, TX. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call on Saturday, June 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Cozean Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will follow at the Cozean Chapel at 4:00 p.m. Interment will follow at a later date.
