Edna Viola Wood

Edna Viola Wood, 78, of Fredericktown died June 16, 2009 at St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, Missouri.

She was born November 16, 1930 at Patton, Missouri, a daughter of Floyd and Minnie Aslinger.

On August 20, 1966 she was united in marriage to Jim Wood at Dillard, Missouri. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Wood was also preceded in death by her parents; five sisters; and  two brothers.

She is survived by one son, Jimmie Albright of Fredericktown; and two step-sons, Jimmy Wood of Arnold and Jack Wood of Springfield; one daughter, Connie Matthews of Fredericktown; one step-daughter, Mary Carol Mudra of Imperial; one brother, Harold Aslinger of Patton; and one sister, Gertrude Grindstaff of Patton.

Mrs. Wood had nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Fredericktown and the Optimist Club of Fredericktown.

Services were held June 18, 2009 at Follis and Sons Chapel with the Reverend Gene Rauls officiating. Burial was at Union Light Cemetery  in Patton, Missouri.

Pallbearers were: Jeff Jensen, Robert Mooney, Gene Aslinger, Mike Mudra, Josh Mudra and Jeremy Mudra.
