Lorraine Doris Gerstenschlager

Lorraine Doris Gerstenschlager, 88, of Bonne Terre, Missouri died June 11, 2009 at Parkland Medical Center in Farmington, Missouri.

She was born February 9, 1921 in River Mines, Missouri, a daughter of Alfred and Lydia (Jennings) Stange.

Mrs. Gerstenschlager was preceded in death by her parents; Her husbands: Dewey Eugene Sharp, Roland W. Priest and Alvin E. Gerstenschlager; one son, Larry Lee Sharp; two sisters, Lucy Hare and Mary Ellen Mills; and three brothers: Carl Stange, Robert Stange and Alfred Stange Jr.

Mrs. Gerstenschlager is survived by three sons: Richard Sharp of Cypress, Texas, John Sharp of San Antonio, Texas and Kevin Priest of Knoxville, Iowa.

She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several in-laws, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Mrs. Gerstenschlager was a homemaker and a strong independent-minded woman who raised four boys. She loved dining out and did so frequently. She was also an avid Cardinal’s fan.

Her greatest enjoyment was the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Gerstenschlager enjoyed playing pinochle and meeting people when she sold Avon in the Fredericktown area.

She was a member of Park Hills Church of Christ and a devout Christian woman who supported her church long after she was unable to attend.

Services were held June 14, 2009 at Wilson Funeral Home with Brother Bernie Crum officiating. Burial was at Marcus Memorial Park Cemetery in Fredericktown.
