Hurricanes sweep four weekend road games

PERRYVILLE — The Farmington Hurricanes began a four-game stretch of Junior American Legion road action on Saturday night by ripping Perryville 23-3 in the first game of a double-header.

Logan Bradley drilled four hits including a double, and Nathan Wulfert struck out seven batters over six innings for the win. Conner Davault collected three hits, and Doug Warren and Alex Pinkston added two singles each.

Four hurlers were utilized as the Hurricanes claimed the nightcap 14-11. Roper Garrett paced the offense with three singled, while Bubba Kearns and Wulfert each notched two hits with a double.

Farmington finished with five-extra base hits, including additional doubles from John Reid, Davault and Bradley.

The Hurricanes continued their winning ways on Sunday, sweeping a double-header from De Soto by margins of 9-2 and 16-10.

Doug Warren recorded seven strikeouts while earning the win in game one. Bradley provided the offensive punch with three singles, and Pinkston added another hit.

Josh Gann and Garrett each had a double among three hits, and Kearns highlighted game two with a long home run. Pinkston tripled and Jeff McCord singled twice, while Eric Moyers pocketed the win in relief.

The Hurricanes (24-7) have a chance to reach first place in their league when they challenge Ste. Genevieve tonight at Yanks Field.
