City of Fredericktown Electrical Substation
The City of Fredericktown has been in the process of replacing/upgrading the Downtown Electrical Substation located behing Barrett-Jensen on South Main. The upgrade means less power outages for those businesses and residents who are connected to this particular substation. The final conversion process includes downing the substation for about 3 hours. Unfortunately, this means certain areas will be without power during that time. To keep the inconvenience to a minimum, the electric crew has scheduled the power outage for Thursday July 9, 2009 at midnight, weather permitting. If the weather forecast includes any rain/storms, they will postpone the outage to another day The only areas NOT affected by the power outage is Northtown (area located to the north of the Courthouse), Linclon Drive, Highway 72 East, Walmart/Murphy Oil, GT Express, Bening Ford, IBS, and Classic Equine. If you have any questions as to whether your area will be affected, please contact City Hall at 783-3583 or City Light and Water at 783-2154. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time of electric service improvement.
The power will be shut down at approximately 11:59 p.m., Thursday until appproximately 3:00 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2009.
