Helping With Storm Restorations

Information submitted

In the aftermath of the recent storm (May 8, 2009) and its wake of damage, the First Presbyterian Church called upon the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance to survey the damage. During their visit, it was discovered a chain saw had been taken from the AmeriCorps volunteers.

A request was made and an answer came; The Presbyterian Disaster Assistance sent a check to cover the cost of replacing the chain saw so clean-up work could continue.

We (recognize) all those who helped after the storm including; Samaritan’s Purse, The Madison County Extension Office, Emergency Management Director Becky Hunt and all the churches who worked, provided meals and shelter.

The First Presbyterian Church is proud to be part of a community that really comes together when it counts!
