Claud T. McCormack, 99, of Birch Run, Michigan died June 29, 2009 at Tendercare of Frankenmuth, Michigan.
He was born November 6, 1909 in Bollinger County, Missouri, a son of James and Nancy (Starkey) McCormack.
Mr. McCormack was united in marriage to Lillian May on February 24, 1933. She preceded him in death on April 3, 2006.
Mr. McCormack was also preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Nancy Woodward and Geraldine Matzke; and three brothers, Everett, Lester and Bill.
He is survived by two sons Jack McCormack of Birch Run, Michigan and Thomas McCormack of St. Helen; one daughter, Marcella Peters of Bridgeport; two brothers Clint (Edith) McCormack and Oscar McCormack all of Missouri; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. McCormack was employed with Saginaw Steering Gear for 20 years and also owned and operated, along with his wife Lillian, The White Log Inn in Bridgeport and McCormack’s Country Kitchen in Reese.
“Claud gave his heart to God when he was about the age of 15 years old at an old fashioned revival at Pine Union Church in Bollinger County, Missouri. He would have turned 100 years old on November 7, 2009.” Edith McCormack.
He was an active member of the Bible Baptist Church.
Services were held July 2, 2009 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run with the Reverend Fred C. Smith officiating. Burial was at Birch Run Cemetery.
