Nationals win 60’ bases after a week’s delay
FRANKCLAY — The MABA National 12 year-old All-Stars played a very long game with the MABA American All-Stars. Actually it was only six innings, but a rain delay last Saturday suspended their second game between each other in the second inning, and the game was renewed Friday night.
Having won the first game on Saturday, the Nationals made quick work of the district tournament by winning the second game as well by a score of 9-3.
Blake Worley threw all six innings for the win, striking out eight batters and giving up only five hits and four walks.
Hunter Ballew and Ian Semar both drove in two runs and were both 2-3, and Tyler Sullivan was 2-4 for the Nationals
Hayden Helvey and John Hovick were both 2-4 for the Americans, with Hovick hitting a double.
The Nationals will continue their run at the state tournament at Marionville next week.
