City seeks federal aid

The Ste. Genevieve Commission is trying to get federal assistance to help cover the costs associated with the cleanup from the May 8-16 storms. The commission met with representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on July 16.

Local governments can get reimbursement for protective measures, debris removal, repair and replacement of damaged infrastructure through the Public Assistance Declaration.
