Peggy Wynell Peterson

FARMINGTON — Peggy Wynell Peterson of Farmington passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2009, at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center, at the age of 78 years, six months and 17 days. She was born January 20, 1931, at Vernon, AL, daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah M. (Jackson) Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Peterson and nine brothers and sisters.

Peggy enjoyed gardening and quilting in her spare time. Before retirement, she worked as a seamstress for Trimfoot. 

Survivors include three sons, Sam (Susan) Stimpson of Farmington, Stan Stimpson of Fieldsboro, NJ and Steve (Gwen) Stimpson of Burk Burnett, TX; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a sister, Opal (E.F.) Foster of Winfield, AL. In addition, she is survived by two stepdaughters, Judy and Theora and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a special friend, Carol White.

Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2009. Visitaiton will resume Monday at 7 a.m. with a funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Cozean Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington, MO. Memorials may be made to Barnes Jewish Hospital Cancer Research.
