Melvin Blum

WEATHERFORD, TEXAS — Mr. Melvin L. Blum, 87, passed away August 15, 2009, at Veterans Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Melvin was born July 13, 1922 in Irondale, Missouri to Frank and Edyth Mae (Conway) Blum.

Also preceding in death: His wife, Rose Mary (Lawler) Blum; two sons, Billy Melvin and William Blum; one daughter Rose Ann (Darrell) Elliott; two brothers ,Warren Blum and Lindell Blum.

Melvin was united in marriage to Rose Mary Lawler on August 9, 1943. Melvin served in World War II, was in Army Air Force. They lived in Flat River in the 70’s and 80’s, moved back to Texas in 1988. Was a member of V.F.W.

Survivors include: Dennis (Linda) Blum of Synder, Texas; Donna Roden, State of Maine; Janet (Lucky) Drew of Weatherford, Texas. Sister Arlene (Lawrence) Murray of Desloge, Missouri; Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be August 18, 2009. Interment at Veteran’s Cemetery, Weatherford, Texas.
