Time to play football

The Farmington Knights football season begins Friday with a home game against the North County Raiders.

The Farmington Athletic Booster Club is sponsoring a blackout night and will be selling short- and long-sleeved t-shirts all week and before the game. The shirts can be purchased at the home concession stand from 3-5:30 p.m., and before the game beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. For more information on the shirts call 760-2881 to find out other ways to purchase. Anyone purchasing a shirt will receive a ticket for a free slice of pizza at the concession stand.

“The black out is a way for the athletic booster club to encourage people to wear black to the game and support the players,” said Pat Burns, athletic director at Farmington High School.

Both Farmington and North County are pre-selling tickets for the Friday evening game. To purchase tickets ahead of time contact the Farmington or North County Athletic Directors office.

Burns also wanted to remind fans of the new parking lots and the change of sides. The visitors will park closest to the high school side and can also access parking off of Liberty Street next to the band wing.

The Farmington fans will use the parking lot behind the old visitors side and have access to the new concession stand.

Farmington High School had three fall sporting events begin this week — softball, football and tennis. The remaining fall sports will begin next week.
